Robin Ooijer is a PhD candidate in the Computational Pathology group. In 2018, he received his Master's degree (cum laude) in Physics and Astronomy from Radboud University Nijmegen. He performed his Master's research in the Quantum Gravity group of the High Energy Physics department of Radboud University. After receiving his degree he worked as a technical consultant at Nijmegen-based GX Software, where he developed data science and machine learning software and advised customers on its implementation. In 2022, he started his PhD project under supervision of Francesco Ciompi and Chella van der Post on developing AI algorithms for digital detection of diffuse-type gastric cancer (DGC) and identification of new patients with hereditary DGC.
