Gonzalo de Toro is a visiting guest researcher from Chile who will join the Computational Pathology Group at Radboud University Medical Center for a one-year stay starting on September 2026. During this period, he will work on computational pathology applied to histopathological image analysis, with a particular focus on dermatopathology, under the supervision of Geert Litjens.
Gonzalo is a Chilean pathologist and certified dermatopathologist who graduated from Universidad de Chile and has nearly 20 years of experience in diagnostic pathology. He has combined clinical practice, teaching, research, and professional leadership, including serving as President of the Chilean Society of Anatomical Pathology and currently as Vice-President of the Latin American Society of Digital Pathology. He has also played a leading role in the implementation of digital pathology within the Chilean public healthcare system. His current interests focus on translating computational pathology methods into clinically useful tools for diagnosis, research, and pathology education.
