Jochem Bossenbroek

Bigpicture Transition Leader

Jochem Bossenbroek joins Radboud University Medical Center as Transition Leader for Bigpicture on 1 September 2026. In this role, he will lead the transition of Bigpicture from a European research project into an independent and self-sustaining organisation, with the aim of realising its long-term impact in digital pathology and AI-driven healthcare.

Jochem brings over 17 years of experience at the intersection of science, innovation and entrepreneurship in health and life sciences. He co-founded ttopstart, where he worked with scientists, companies and international consortia to advance and fund biomedical innovations. He later founded and led several ventures in health and biotechnology, including BunyaVax and Verdify.

His academic background combines science and business. Jochem holds a BSc in Life Sciences & Technology from Leiden University and Delft University of Technology, an MSc in Management, Policy Analysis and Entrepreneurship in Health & Life Sciences from Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam, and an Executive MBA from Rotterdam School of Management, Erasmus University.

Within Bigpicture, his focus will be on shaping the organisational model, governance, strategic partnerships and sustainable funding needed for its next phase. He works under the supervision of Jeroen van der Laak, Professor of Computational Pathology at Radboudumc and coordinator of the Bigpicture consortium.
