John-Melle Bokhorst is a PhD student in the Computational Pathology group. He studied Biomedical Engineering, with a specialization on Image Analysis at the Eindhoven University of Technology. He performed his graduation project in the Computational Pathology group, where he worked on a deep learning systems for the analysis of HE-stained colorectal cancer tissue samples, with the aim of obtaining prognostic data that can guide a tailor treatment per patient or per patient category (Tumor budding). From January 2018, John-Melle continued this research as a PhD student under the supervision of Iris Nagtegaal, Jeroen van der Laak and Francesco Ciompi.
