Meyke Hermsen studied Biological and Medical Laboratory Science at the HAN University of Applied Sciences , with a main focus on Cytology, Histology and Pathology. After graduating in 2013, she started working as Research technician at the Pathology Department of the Radboud University Medical Center for the Computational pathology group and the Nephropathology group. In July 2016, she started her PhD project in the Computational Pathology Group focusing on deep learning applications for renal transplant pathology. Her PhD was funded by ZonMw, within the Horizon 2020 programme, ERACoSysMed. Supervision is provided by Jeroen van der Laak, Bart Smeets and Luuk Hilbrands.
