Meyke Hermsen studied Biological and Medical Laboratory Science at the HAN University of Applied Sciences , with a main focus on Cytology, Histology and Pathology. After graduating in 2013, she started working as Research Technician at the Pathology Department of the Radboud University Medical Center for the groups of Digital Pathology and Renal Diseases. In July 2016 she started as PhD student on the Sys-MIFTA project, focusing on macrophage-associated interstitial fibrosis and tubular trophy in renal allograft rejection. This project is funded by ZonMw, within the Horizon 2020 programme , ERACoSysMed. Supervision is provided by Jeroen van der Laak, Bart Smeets, Iris Nagtegaal and Luuk Hilbrands.
