Filip Winzell

Filip Winzell is a 4th year PhD student at the Division of Computer Vison and Machine Learning (CVML) at the Centre for Mathematical Sciences, Lund University, Sweden. He obtained his Master of Science degree in Biomedical Engineering from Lund University in 2021. His PhD, supervised by Anders Heyden (main), Niels Christian Overgaard, Karl Åström and Ida Arvidsson, is focused on developing deep learning-based models for longitudinal prediction of prostate cancer patients as well as machine learning and statistical methods for Alzheimer’s disease research. Starting October 2025, he will be a visiting researcher in the Computational Pathology Group under the supervision of Nadieh Khalili and Geert Litjens, working on multimodal prostate cancer and artificial intelligence.
