Jorge Figueroa
Visiting Researcher
Jorge Figueroa is a PhD student in the Visión Artificial y Reconocimiento de Patrones (VARPA) group at the University of A Coruña (UDC), Spain. In 2023, he obtained his MSc (Extraordinary award) in Computer Vision at the UDC, after finishing his Computer Science studies at the same university. From there, he has been pursuing his PhD under the supervision of Jorge Novo and José Rouco, focusing on Deep Learning techniques for Whole Slide Images, and, more specifically, on reducing the impact of these methodologies through the exploration of modern paradigms, such as adversarial training or generative techniques. In April 2025, he started as a visiting researcher in the Computational Pathology Group under the supervision of Francesco Ciompi.
